Merz Group

Two enterprises are combined under the umbrella of the Merz Group based in Frankfurt: Merz Pharma GmbH & Co. KGaA and Senator GmbH. Merz Pharma brings together the activities of its five subsidiaries Merz Pharmaceuticals, Merz Consumer Care, Merz Dental, Merz Hygiene and Merz Group Services.

• Merz Pharmaceuticals researches, develops, manufactures and sells innovative drugs in the areas of neurology and psychiatry, dermatology and metabolism. In Alzheimer's research, Merz Pharmaceuticals has achieved a leading position with the first worldwide active agent for the treatment of mild to serious Alzheimer's dementia
  
  
• Merz Consumer Care, with its well-known brands tetesept® and Merz Spezial® ,is the leading supplier of over-the-counter drugs, nutritional additives and products for beauty and wellness in the German-speaking countries
  
  
• Merz Dental develops and markets synthetic dentures. With the artegral® ImCrown, Merz Dental has developed the first worldwide pre-produced, fully anatomical side and front tooth
  
  
• Merz Hygiene specialises in the development and commercialisation of innovative disinfection and cleaning products for hospitals, doctors' offices and laboratories
  
  
• Merz Group Services comprises the areas finance/controlling, human resources, information technology (IT), supply chain/purchasing and technical operations

Senator is one of the leading writing instrument manufacturers in the promotional articles market worldwide and number one in Europe for pressure ballpoint pens. Two thirds of the reusable ballpoint pens produced in Germany originate from Senator production.
